Any tips or suggestions?

I’ve been thinking about upgrading my terrace lately. I’m really interested in creating a functional outdoor space and have been looking into pergolas as a possible solution. The thing is, I’m not sure how to combine a pergola with a functional floor design. Do you have any experience with this? How do I make sure that the floor and the pergola go together well and are durable enough for year-round use? Any tips or suggestions?

Hi! Great question! I’ve worked on a few terrace projects, and combining a pergola with the floor can really transform the space. First of all, you want to consider the materials. Polycarbonate pergolas, for example, are great for protecting you from the sun and rain, and they look sleek. When it comes to the floor, I'd recommend using durable materials like tiles or composite decking, which are both weather-resistant. Make sure the floor is even to avoid water pooling under the pergola. Also, think about integrating gutters in the pergola to direct rainwater off the terrace, which can help protect your floor. I found some great options for pergolas, including polycarbonate ones, on sites like Close The Deal https://closethedeal.co.uk/catalogs/polycarbonate-pergola . They have a variety of designs, and you can find one that suits your style and functional needs. For flooring, I also suggest incorporating drainage solutions if you’re using tiles or wooden decking, especially if your terrace gets a lot of rain. This way, you’ll avoid water damage and ensure the space lasts.
