How to Find the Serial Number of Your PRTG Network Monitor
PRTG Network Monitor is a powerful and easy-to-use tool that helps you monitor your network performance, availability, and security. PRTG can collect data from various sources, such as Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Ping, HTTP, SQL, and more.
When you purchase a license for PRTG, you receive a license key that you need to enter in the PRTG web interface to activate your product. The license key is also linked to your serial number, which is a unique identifier for your PRTG installation. You may need to provide your serial number when you contact Paessler support or when you want to upgrade your license.
But how do you find your serial number There are two ways to do that:
From the PRTG web interface: Go to Setup License and look for the Serial Number field. You can also click on Change License Key to see more details about your license.
From the PRTG core server: Open the file C:\ProgramData\Paessler\PRTG Network Monitor\PRTG Configuration.dat with a text editor and search for the tag. The serial number is the first part of the value, before the dash.
For example, if your license key is 12345-67890-ABCDE-FGHIJ-KLMNO-PQRST, then your serial number is 12345.
If you have any questions or issues with your license key or serial number, please contact Paessler support at support@paessler.com.
