About the event
Winter Solstice, also known as midwinter, is the shortest darkest day of the year. We have arrived at the point in the year where the darkness has expanded to its fullness and must bow down to the sun. It is a time of hope and a time to dream the life you wish for into being.
Solstice mean 'sun stands still'. It happens twice yearly when one of earth's hemispheres is furthest away from the sun.
Winter Solstice has been celebrated for thousands of years around the world, it is a time of new beginning and a rebirth of the sun.
It is a perfect time for us too to stand still. To pause and reflect on the past year and intended to open you up to the positive energy and new opportunities of 2021.
This event will include guided meditation, reflection, intention setting, practising gratitude, and yoga asana. The yoga will begin with yin longer holding postures to honour the darkness before building up to a stronger but slow flowing practise building some heat and sparking that fire within.
Light your candles, set up your yoga space, wear comfy layered clothing, have a cushion or pillow handy, bring a notepad and pen handy and arrive with an open heart & mind :)
I can't wait to share this practise with you, Sarah x
